New Jersey Nets trade:
Rafer Alston (84) - $4,900,000, $5,250,000 Keyon Dooling (79) - $3,300,000, $3,564,000, $3,828,000 Josh Boone (70) - $1,212,120, $2,056,967, $2,992,887
Total Outgoing Salary: $9,412,120 Total Incoming Salary: $8,516,487
TEAM OPTIONS
I accept.
BTW as far as qualifying offer is concerned we are going to count qualifying offer as TO right?
it's basically giving player a one year tender so they become restricted FA, instead of unrestricted when they don't offer a player a qualifying offer.
so under that context qualifying offer would fall under TO.

I don't like this. Ariza is an improving stud and Farmer and Vujacic are great young talents. Farmar isn't as good as Alston, but he is much younger. Dooling isn't as good as Vujacic IMO. I would say that the trade would be more even if one of the three Lakers wasn't involved.
Declined as is.

Wow. Yet another mod unnecessarily flaunting their power. It seems that with every new league we have this. People need to learn that leagues run on the ability to make deals, not the ability to be handicapped by admins that rush to veto every trade that in their mind is a little off-center. If it's not rape, don't go calling the police.
We're two experienced GM's. We know what we're doing. Let us trade.

This is the only trade I have come close to vetoing and its because it is obviously one sided

I disagree, I agree on Ariza but I won't be able to re-sign him that's where Alston comes in.
as for Farmer and Vujacic, both are GROSSLY overrated, Vujacic had a horrible year this year, and Farmer isn't even the 2nd best PG on the team, I saw at times Shannon Brown do much better job then he did.
Farmer also is a liability on defense and he gets very pissy if he does not get playing time, that's why you saw LAL resign Brown and have interest in Nate Robinson in trade deadline and now.
We saw what Alston did in the playoffs when it mattered, he stepped up big for Orlando and Dooling isn't a great player but he is much cheaper and more efficient then Sasha.
this is how I view the trade
Alston=Ariza Farmer=Dooling Sasha=Boone
Boone is not great he is okay but I need depth in the big man position and that's what he provides.
just my thoughts on it.

I can accept that reasoning. I'll accept this, although I want it to be known that my change in decision has to do with the Lakers' reasoning and my respect for him as a GM, not because NJ complained about it.

I accept. LAL lacks a high(er) rated PG (perhaps their only weakness) and with Alston, who proved with Orlando that he can lead a team far, they help fill that void. Ariza is nice, but you have to compromise in some areas to gain in others.
If NJN accepts Ariza's qualifying offer then the following year Ariza becomes an unrestricted free agent. However if he declines it this year then Ariza becomes a RFA for this offseason.

My judge of the real life talent is NJ gets the best 3 players...I hate Alston. In the game though Alston is an 84, and like OKC said that is really LAL's only weakness. I get that Sasha and Farmar aren't "prototype PG's" and that LA will save some cap (and that could be hue for them down the road.) Alston will also be more up tempo than Fisher, which could really help the Lakers (bye bye Bynum?) Ariza will be a bitch to resign but if NJ can do it he wins the deal for sure now, but also factor in he will gain cap space for 2010. Depth is a lot less of a factor in this rating system than Live because everyone is rated fairly decent lol, so I'm gonna accept this because I trust both GM's.

I'm accepting it also. It's slightly off IMO also, BUT not enough for a decline either.
Accepted and approved.
